About Me

As a therapist, the most rewarding part of my job is to watch my clients summon their bravery, discover their resilience, and solidify their inner anchor.   It is such a gift to see them own their stories and learn to narrate them with love and empathy rather than with judgment and shame.  It can feel like a treacherous path to travel, but when done well, it can leave you basking in the light of fulfillment that you will forever wear like a hard-earned badge of honor.

I began this adventure of being a therapist in 1999.  I started at a community mental health center where I had a phenomenal introduction to a variety of mental health needs and interventions. I was an outpatient therapist working with children, adolescents, adults and families.  I also specialized in sexual abuse treatment, working with families affected by abuse as well as their offenders.  I was the program manager of the sexual abuse treatment program and learned more than I can ever put into words in doing this critical yet heart-wrenching work.  In 2007, I started my own family and began a new journey in an effort to be more empowered as a therapist and to be more self-directed in the care I provided.  I joined a private practice group where I worked for 8 years specializing in family therapy.  In 2016, I began my next chapter - solo private practice.  I see folks with a variety of issues including anxiety, mood dysregulation, attention issues, behavioral problems, trauma, phase of life challenges, grief, and relationship concerns.  I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults as they’re just so remarkably interesting and inspiring.

A little about me personally… I crave family time and connections, seek play and wisdom, daydream about the ocean, savor time on my yoga mat, wish to travel more, and can lose myself in music.  I desire to be courageous, though some days are better than others.  We’re all a work in progress!
